Tier – I Written Examination: It includes all the objective multiple choice type questions in online mode having 4sections of 100 questions in total with a total marks of 200 that has to be completed within a time period of 60 minutes. There are no sectional cut off and but negative marking of 0.5 marks is there for every wrong answers.
  2. Tier – II Written Examination: It also includes objective multiple choice type questions in online mode with no sectional cut off but negative marking of 0.25 marks is there for every wrong answers.
  3. Tier 3: It is a Descriptive paper with questions on English or Hindi language over Offline with a total of 100 marks and has to be completed within a time period of 1hour.
  4. Tier 4:It is actually a skill Test or a Computer Proficiency Test. It is conducted suitably.

What is the pattern of Tier 1 exam

The entire question is divided into 4 parts with stipulated time interval as follows:-

Part A: Based on General Intelligence and Reasoning with 25 questions having 50 marks in total.

Part B: Based on General Awareness with 25 questions having 50 marks in total.

Part C: Based on Quantitative Aptitude with 25 questions having 50 marks in total.

Part D: Based on English Comprehension with 25 questions having 50 marks in total

The questions that are being asked in Reasoning, GA and English in going to be graduation level and the questions given in the Quantitative Aptitude are going to be of 10th standard level.

What is the pattern of Tier 2 Exam

The candidate who qualify the tier 1 exam is only eligible for this exam.

Part IV: General Studies that includes Finance and Economics with 200 marks in total having 100 questions with a time of 2 hours and about 2 hours and 40 minutes for the VH candidates.

What is the pattern of Tier 3 exam

The exam is descriptive conducted over offline mode with 100 marks with a duration of 1 hour time and the questions are based on the subjects like English or Hindi essay, Précis, Letter, Application and many more.

The exam is being conducted in 2 steps, which are as follows:-

  1. DEST i.e. the Data Entry Speed Test: This exam is for the post of tax assistants such as the Central Excise and the Income Tax.
